Albert Pinya is one of the Mallorcan artists of his generation with the strongest international profile, and hard to pigeonhole. He has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally in museums and institutions such as the Museo Vostell-Malpartida (Cáceres, Spain, 2007), Auditorium Parco della Musica (Rome, Italy, 2012), the Milan Triennale (Milan, Italy, 2017), MAC – Museum of Contemporary Art of Lissone (Italy, 2017), Matadero Madrid (Spain, 2019), MACE Museum of Contemporary Art of Eivissa (Spain, 2020) and Es Baluard Museum of Contemporary Art (Mallorca, Spain, 2022).

Notable solo exhibitions include those at the galleries Exhibit (Santander, Spain, 2023), Baró (Palma, Spain, 2022), Alzueta (Barcelona, Spain, 2022), Martina Corbetta Arte Contemporanea (Giussano, Italy, 2021), Pelaires (Palma, Spain, 2018) and Alegría (Madrid, Spain, 2013).

His work has been shown at international fairs such as ARCO Madrid, Artissima, Zona Maco and Kiaf, among others, and is part of collections such as the María Cristina Masaveu Peterson Foundation (Madrid, Spain), the Cittadella degli Archivi del Comune di Milano (Milan, Italy) and MAC – Museum of Contemporary Art (Lissone, Monza Brianza, Italy).

Since 2018 he has worked with the ceramist Català-Roig. He has also collaborated with musicians such as Niño de Elche and Joan Miquel Oliver, poets such as Àngel Terron, Jaume C. Pons Alorda, Lucia Pietrelli and Laia Malo, and artists such as Rafa Forteza, Pep Girbent and Laurina Paperina.

The publisher Adia Edicions has published two monographs on his work: Agropower (2017) and Muladar (2020).

His awards include the AECA Prize at ARCOmadrid 2014, the Medal of Honour of the BMW Painting Prize 2016 in Madrid, and First Prize in the “Art Jove. Illes Balears” programme of the Balearic Government in 2007.
