Enric Majoral, craftsman and artist, was born in Sabadell (Barcelona) in 1949 and since 1972 has lived and worked between Formentera and Barcelona. Self-taught, he has made jewellery since 1974, and in 1984 he was a founding member of the La Mola Art and Craft Fair in Formentera. Ancient Mediterranean culture, and the island of Formentera in particular, lie at the heart of the Majoral universe: from nature to architecture, through traditional jewellery, ways of life, myths and the craft of an age-old and enduring culture. Enric Majoral connects this anthropological foundation with modernity and urban culture, creating a dialogue between tradition, innovation and experimentation.

In 1985 he joined Foment de les Arts Decoratives in Barcelona, and in 2007 he received the National Craft Award from the Spanish Ministry of Industry. In 2014 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Catalan Jewellers’ Association (JORGC), and in 2019 he was awarded the Ramon Llull Prize by the Balearic Government in recognition of his career as a jeweller. He has exhibited his jewellery at the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma, the National Art Museum of Catalonia and in countries such as Germany, Japan and the United States. The Museum of Arts and Design in New York (MAD NY) holds two of his pieces in its permanent collection.
