The work of Josep Carles Bonet Vallribera (Sant Antoni, 1965) is the focus of Estudi Tur Costa’s first exhibition of 2022. Through his latest works, most of them created in 2021, the show traces the constants in the Ibizan artist’s creative career: geometry, light and colour. The exhibition includes an installation created by the artist as a tribute to Anneliese Witt and Rafael Tur Costa.
With a minimalist approach, light, geometry and colour are the main protagonists of his works. The materials (wood, methacrylate and neon) speak of the relationship between the artificial and the natural, the synthetic and the organic, seemingly opposed but complementary and in dialogue in his creations, producing a language that conveys balance, integration, joy and vitality. He also brings the image into his compositional play through mirrors that reflect the viewer and the surroundings, drawing them into the work and giving it movement and life. The painterly element is also present in his pieces, with acrylic adding texture and warmth to the geometric play and clean lines.
